Amor Omnia
The program included selections from the rarely heard Majnun Symphony (No. 24), Op. 273, by Alan Hovhaness (1911-2000). It is based on a Persian love legend dating back to the 9th century. We also performed American composer Paul Carey's "Into this World,” commissioned by the Festival Choir in 2009.

Highlights of selected choruses from Messiah, Stephen Paulus’ Nativity Carols, Ola Gjeilo's O Magnum Mysterium and festive selections from Broadway musicals!

Motzart's Requiem
The Requiem begins, "Grant them eternal rest, Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them."
It is the perpetual light that fills Mozart's last piece, with music that uses the text of the Catholic mass for the dead to celebrate the miracle of life. In times in which the whole world is hoping for light in the darkness, the Festival Choir of Madison along with Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra present Requiem by W. A. Mozart, May 21, 8:00 pm, Hamel Music Center.

Tango!
The passion of Tango comes to Madison with music by the Argentinian composers Martín Palmeri and Astor Piazzolla with mezzo soprano, mixed choir, accordion, piano, and string orchestra.
